The feathers and fibers of down are for containing body heat, are compressible and provide a soft, comfortable feel. The bottom layer is insulated with Kelty CloudLoft Pro synthetic fill. Though not as lightweight or compressible as down, CloudLoft Pro better maintains its insulating qualities if it becomes wet. The spacious, rectangular cut of the provides more room at the feet, hips and shoulders and converts to a single down bag when a double wide bag isn’t needed. Box-baffle construction on top and two-layer, quilt-through construction on the bottom help to eliminate cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the inside and the zipper draft tube helps to further ensure that cold air remains outside.
