Our Boys' Rashguard is built for on-the-water core sun-and chill-protection with 50+ UPF sun protection. This garment has a Slim Fit Oceans, rivers, creeks, lakes, quarries, rills, swamps, ponds and, unfortunately, the neighbors pig trough if it involves sun, water and boys, then count in this rashguard. It has a low-profile mock turtleneck, and seamless underarm gussets and flat-seam construction for friction-free mobility. Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off. To achieve sun protection, we take a varied approach, depending on the degree desired and the fabric used. Elements of the strategy can range from yarn selection to fabric construction to the use of special finishes (especially for light colors). Patagonia products with rated UPF protection are tested independently to meet Australia/New Zealand or AATCC protocols.
