GOOSE DOWN FILL : THERMAL INSULATION
Down is considered to be the single-most warmest insulating material ever found on Earth. Down quality is measured by placing 1 oz. of goose down into a graduated cylindrical tube & measuring the
volume that the down material condenses down to (in cubic inches).
The "number" of fill power for each down material corresponds to the end results of condensing the goose down feathers in a cylindrical tube measured in cubic inches; as the number of
fill-power number goes up, so does the quality, loft, and condensability of the down material itself.
