Cold weather camping has a unique set of challenges, including melting snow and condensation inside your tent. Designed to outperform standard down bags, the award-winning Zissou 0 features 30-ounces of 700-fill DriDown™ insulation to keep your bag insulating better, lofting higher, and drying faster in any winter environment.
Simply put, DriDown™ represents the evolution of down insulation. Regular down is treated with a molecular level polymer to create a hydrophobic finish on each individual down plume. This finish allows DriDown™ to stay dry longer, loft better, and dry faster than regular down, keeping you warmer in any environment.
EN Testing is short for 'European Norm', which is a government test for sleeping bags.
For the EN test, a copper mannequin named Charlie is fitted with 20 sensors and a clothing layer (top, bottom, and socks) that provide a consistent thermal value. The mannequin is placed in the sleeping bag and put onto a wood platform roughly 12mm thick. The board is held above the floor with some support which allows air circulation under the board. The board is covered with a mattress that has a consistent thermal value then placed in a cold room. A mathematical formula is used to measure the data received from the sensors based on human modeling.
